Recently, Mrs. Price's students from Alma Middle School had the chance to attend an engaging and educational workshop hosted by Heritage Portraits in Van Buren.
The day kicked off with a lesson on different types of studio lighting, followed by a quick quiz to reinforce their understanding. Students then got hands-on experience setting up various lighting configurations and connecting transmitters and receivers.
In the next activity, students practiced portrait photography by taking turns posing and assisting each other with styling and positioning. Working in two groups, one focused on capturing photos while the other managed details like hair and hand placement. Everyone had the opportunity to photograph both individual and group portraits.
After the photo session, the students moved to the lab to work with a photo-editing program called Darkroom. They learned how to enhance their images and even printed a few of their favorite shots.
To conclude the workshop, Amanda Harrell, the owner of Heritage Portraits, treated the students to Chick-fil-A gift cards for lunch. After their meal, the group made a stop at 7Brew for a refreshing drink before returning to campus. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to Amanda Harrell and her team for providing such a memorable and inspiring experience!
