Alma eighth-grade shuts out Morrilton

The Alma Airedales’ eighth-grade football team routed Morrilton this week, 30-0. 

Quarterback Nate Risley completed all of his passes, including a 58-yard touchdown strike to David Atherton, during the Airedales’ victory. Risley also added 94 yards rushing on just four carries, including a touchdown run. 

Trevor Hoover added a rushing touchdown and two tackles on defense. Anthony Nelson also recorded two tackles for the winners. 

Also on defense, Peyton Broadway caused a fumble with a solo tackle, and Granger Bausell had two pass breakups to go along with a tackle. Billy Burden had a solo tackle, assisted on another, and caused a fumble. 

The Airedales’ Tyler Neighbors and Konner Gryner recovered fumbles. 

Along with Atherton, Burden and Callum Woods also caught passes.
