Announcement of the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest and Smart/Maher National Citizenship Education Teacher of the Year Winners from Alma Middle School
The Robert Jack VFW Post recently declared this year's winners for the Patriot's Pen essay contest and the Smart/Maher National Citizenship Education Teacher of the Year. The following individuals were recognized for their outstanding performance:
Olivia Lal, an 8th-grader, received first place in the local area and second place in the district, earning her a total of $500. Titan Nicely, a 7th-grader who relocated to a different district after submitting his entry, placed second in the local area and received $150. Mrs. Barrett received the Teacher of the Year title in the local area and was awarded $100 as a prize.
