Alma JV team tops Ozark

Alma Schools
The Airedales’ junior varsity team defeated Ozark Monday, 16-8.
Michael Taylor ran for 119 yards and a touchdown and completed 11 of 26 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown, a 12-yarder to Caleb Liles.
Jacob Dollard and Logan English added 29 and 12 yards rushing, respectively. Cash Farris caught four passes for 58 yards, and Ashton Chanhnouvong and Camden Curd caught two passes each for 17 and 18 yards, respectively.
Owen McCoy and Brayden Polecat each had one reception.
Trenton Kilgore led the Airedales with five tackles and a PBU (pass break up). Joshua Releford, Tim Plourde, and Ashton Millsap had three tackles apiece. Releford had an interception and Plourde and Millsap each had a sack.
Taylor also had two tackles and an interception.
8th Grade Football
Dallas Perkins ran for 107 yards and a touchdown Thursday to power the Alma Airedales to a 22-12 win over the Ozark Hillbillies in eighth-grade football action.
Quarterback Tucker Workman threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Malachi Houck to account for another score. Brody Baldwin completed 3-of-4 passes for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Trenton Simon had one reception for 28 yards.
Quinton Broadway led the Airedales with 10 tackles, including seven solo stops. Treven Moore and Dain Mosby had four tackles apiece. Alma’s Mason Mahar had two tackles for loss and Brennen Gwinn recovered a fumble.
Volleyball
The Alma Lady Airedales dropped a nonconference decision to Gravette Monday, 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.
Sophomore Breella Hughes had five kills to pace the Airedales. Zoe Thrift added three kills and a block.
Senior Julia Nutt finished with 16 assists and three aces.
