Alma’s junior volleyball team rolls to easy sweep of Siloam

Alma’s ninth-grade volleyball team split with Siloam Springs Tuesday, with the junior girls earning a 25-21, 25-10 victory.
Madie House led Alma with six kills and three digs. Chloe Kovalck had three kills, four assists, and two digs, and Mallory Taylor, Ellyse Wright, and Bentley Vaughn had two kills each.
Taylor and Vaughn added nine and five assists, respectively.
Also for Alma, Jaeli Morris had four kills, three aces, two digs, and one assist, and Camryn Waters added five digs and led the team with a 2.75 average on serve-receive. Leah Wilson added a team-high four aces and two digs, Olivia Whipple had two kills, two aces, and two digs, and Haven Baxter had one kill and one dig.
Alma’s seventh grade Gold split its match, 17-25, 25-18. The seventh-grade Green team won, 25-14, 25-19.
The eighth-grade squad dropped a 23-25, 25-20, 13-15 decision.
Cross Country
This week, Alma’s cross country team earned first place in the Co-Ed Relays at the University of the Ozarks.
The team consisted of Jasmine Martin, Caleb Boen, Nevaeh Kangas, and Sam Haig, who took first overall with a time of 56.12.
