Strong second half carries Lady Airedales to 36-13 win

Olivia Hughes scored a game-high nine points to power Alma’s ninth-grade girl's basketball team to a 36-13 rout of Greenbrier on Monday.
Alma (6-2) trailed 11-10 at the half before going on a 23-2 burst in the final 12 minutes.
Matilyn Dunn, Faith Sartor, and Lauren Settle had six points each for the winners. Anna Swarnes and Jaeli Morris added five and four points, respectively.
Hughes put the exclamation point on the win with a second-half 3-pointer in the final quarter.
Coach Angela Rushing’s group will host Northside on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Greenbrier 43, Alma 32
BOYS — The Alma ninth-grade boys basketball suffered its first loss of the season on Monday.
Greenbrier built an 11-1 lead to start the game and never trailed while coasting to a 43-32 victory. Alma closed to within four (30-26) in the third quarter but got no closer.
Luke Stogsdill led Alma (7-1) with nine points and six rebounds. Cade Moore added six points and three boards.
Carson Curd had five points, and Lawson Adams, Landon Taylor, and Sammy Moore finished with three points each. Drake Ciampoli and Hudson Loughridge added two and one point, respectively.
The Airedales host Fort Smith Northside on Thursday.
Alma 25, Greenbrier 14
GIRLS — Jaeli Morris scored nine points to help lead the Alma eighth-grade girls' basketball team to a 25-14 victory over Greenbrier on Monday.
Haven Baxter and Mallory Taylor added five points apiece. Khloe Dunn added three.
The Lady Airedales have won five straight.
Greenbrier 29, Alma 23
BOYS — The Alma Airedales’ eighth grade-boys basketball team suffered a 29-23 setback to Greenbrier on Monday.
Carson Hamilton had 18 points to lead the Airedales.
