Lady Airedales fall to Mavs

The Alma Lady Airedales’ junior high volleyball team suffered a 20-25, 25-16, 15-8 loss to Southside in nonconference play Wednesday night.
Alma, which used a balanced attack to defeat Siloam Springs Monday, was led offensively by Isabella Peters (five kills, 15 digs, two aces, and one assist). Peters had five kills and 10 digs in the win over Siloam Springs.
Alma (17-3, 6-0) resumed conference play Thursday against Harrison. Alma will host the conference tournament on Oct. 21.
Bailee Oliver continued her stellar play with a career-high 37 digs — 13 more than her previous best - and averaged 1.92 in serve-receive. Anna Swarnes averaged 2.17 in serve-receive against Southside, with three kills, 11 digs, and one ace.
Emberly Kimes, who had seven kills on just 12 swings against Siloam Springs, had three kills, two block assists, one assist, and three digs against Southside.
Also against Southside, Matilyn Dunn had nine assists, 10 digs, and an ace; Jaslyn Boone finished with three kills, four assists, and 10 digs.
Jaeda Cahoon had one kill, three digs, one ace, and one assist. Peyton Morris added two kills, and Julia McAlister finished with two block assists and one dig.
