Alma DECA recently participated in the Arkansas DECA Career Development Conference in Springdale, Arkansas, on February 5-7, 2023, with 89 members participating in the academic competition.
The educational competitive events conference showcased a variety of academic skills through career cluster testing, role-play events, case study events, research projects, project management events, entrepreneurship events, and integrated marketing campaigns. The Arkansas DECA state action team election also was held at the conference. At the election, Marti Lineberry was elected to the Arkansas DECA Board of Directors as the Arkansas DECA Vice President of Finance, and Macklaine Easton was elected to the Arkansas DECA Board of Directors as the Vice President of Marketing.
Scholarships were awarded, with Alma DECA senior Logan Jackson being recognized for his accomplishments. In late April, the state winners will compete at the International DECA Career Development Conference that will be held in Orlando, Florida.
