Alma 57, Greenwood 50
BOYS - Miles Kendrick scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half and hit a go-ahead 3-pointer to help lift Alma to a 57-50 come-from-behind win over the Greenwood Bulldogs Tuesday in 5A-West play.
Alma (16-10, 6-4) will host Harrison on Friday.
The Airedales, who lost to Greenwood last month by 13, trailed 31-20 late in the second quarter before scoring the final six points of the second quarter. Camden Curd’s three-point play gave the Airedales their first lead (39-38) midway through the third quarter. After Kendrick’s go-ahead three, the Airedales capped a 37-19 scoring run by earning a season split with the Bulldogs.
Since 1999, Greenwood has managed just one season sweep of the Airedales (2021).
Curd finished with 13 points, two assists, two rebounds, and had one of four blocks. Tyree McGill added 12 points, including 4-of-5 free-throw attempts. The Airedales were just 10-of-20 for the game. Israel Towns-Robinson finished with Carmani Smith led the Airedales with six assists, five rebounds, and two steals.
Greenwood 80, Alma 34
GIRLS - Kylah Pearcy and Izzy Smith combined for 41 points to pace hot-shooting Greenwood to an 80-34 win over the Alma Lady Airedales.
Greenwood (14-10, 8-2) took control with a 14-0 first-quarter run. They opened up a 57-20 halftime lead.
The Lady Bulldogs shot 38 percent from the 3-point line by making 13-of-34 attempts.
Jordan Gramlich led Alma (13-13, 1-9) with 12 points. Olivia Hughes finished with 11.
