Demetrius Parish continued his hot run this spring with a first-place leap at the McDonald Relays last week at Southside High School. 

Parish had a first-place jump of 41 feet, eleven inches in the triple jump. He was also part of Alma’s second-place finish in the 400 relay with a time of 44.19. The group included Byron Standridge, Braxton Kilgore, and Dillon Flanagan. 

Alma’s 1600 relay team (Kilgore, Ayden Parker, Caleb Parker, and Jael Nunez) placed fifth. Nunez was sixth in the 400. 

Standridge was sixth in the 200, and Japheth Barnill and Dakota Stallings finished sixth, respectively, in the 300 hurdles and discus. 

Alma’s Chloe Gregory, Kenadie Farris, Zoye Wofford, and Vivian Beneux were fifth in the 400 relay. Farris placed seventh in the high jump. 

Alma will compete at the 5A-West conference meet Thursday at Van Buren.
