The Alma Lady Airedales’ track team placed second at the Northwest Arkansas River Valley track meet on Tuesday at the Tom McMurray Track at the Alma Intermediate School.

Chloe Gregory, Anna Swarnes, and Faith Sartor earned first-place finishes at the meet. Gregory won the 100 intermediate hurdles with a time of 16.9. She was second (55.21) in the 300 hurdles, third in the triple jump (29 feet, seven inches), and third in the high jump (4-8). 

Swarnes was third in the 100 meters and fifth in the 200. 

Sartor and Jaeli Morris finished first and second, respectively, in the shot put with throws of 36-6 and 36-5 ½. Swarnes won the long jump with a leap of 15-0. Julia McAlister placed seventh in the shot put. 

Izabel Benson (86-2) was third in the discus. Gracie Erwin and Sartor placed sixth and seventh, respectively. 

Alma’s 3200 relay team placed second (11:31.16). The team included Tori Muszanski, Jasmine Martin, Elena Frantzen, and Nevaeh Kangas. Muszanski, McKinly Boyd, Nevaeh Kangas, and Jaidon Humprey were third (4:46.17) in the 1600 relay. 

Humphrey was third (1:05.58) in the 400, a couple of seconds ahead of seventh-place finisher Muszanski. 

Kangas and Frantzen placed sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 1600. Maszanski, Kangas, and Frantzen finished sixth, seventh, and eighth in the 3200. 

Morris, Swarnes, Mallory Holcombe, and Kyran Kious finished third (55.68) in the 400 relay. Kious also placed fourth in the long jump. 

Kious, Morris, Humphrey, and Bentley Vaughn placed fourth (2:00.34) in the 800 relay. 

In the boys’ event, Tristan Nutt, Owen McCoy, Caleb Liles, and Sam Schlegel took first (3:50.31) in the 1600 relay. Schlegel was second (41.8) and Dylan Jackson fourth in the 300 hurdles. 

McCoy was second (56.28) in the 400. McCoy, Liles, Ashton Millsap, and Izaac Plourde were second (1:41.18) in the 800 relay. 

Alma’s 3200 relay team (Grady Farmer, Levi McCollum, McCoy, and Jackson Rust) finished sixth. Moore, Liles, Schlegel, and Dallas Perkins placed sixth in the 400 relay. 

Sammy Moore finished seventh in the 200. Caleb Boen was eighth in the 1600. 

In the field events, Logan Flanagan tied a 21-year-old junior high record in the pole vault with a leap of 10 feet. McCoy and Trevor Simon placed fifth and sixth, respectively. John Crump and Liles finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the high jump. 

Dallas Stallings was third in the shot put. Joseph Lynn was fifth in the shot put and sixth in the discus.
