The Alma Lady Airedales earned their second softball victory of the season Monday by making quick work of the Waldron Lady Bulldogs. 

 

Sophomore MacKenzie Gwinn earned the victory by tossing four shutout innings. She struck out five and allowed just one hit. Gwinn also had one of Alma’s five hits and scored twice. 

 

Teammates Makinzie Erwin, Annabelle Davis, Jenna Williams, Grace Peters, and Dakota Dick also scored twice for the winners (2-4). 

 

Alma, which was set to face Siloam Springs in 5A-West play Tuesday, scored eight runs in the first inning and six more times in the second. Williams and Gwinn drew bases-loaded walks to force home the first two runs, and Peters’ two-run single made it 4-0. 

 

Erwin’s bases-loaded walk made it 5-0, and Davis added a two-run single to extend the lead to 7-0. 

 

Dick, Erwin, and Davis drew bases-loaded walks to extend Alma’s lead to 11-0, and Nutt added a two-run single to make it 13-0.
