Mallory Holcombe, Kyran Kious, Jaidon Humphrey, and Anna Swarnes took first place in the girls' 400 medley relay Monday at the Van Buren junior high meet with a time of 56.31.
Humphrey, Holcome, Kious, and McKinzy Berna placed third (2:03.07) in the girls' 800 relay event.
Alma’s 1600 relay team placed third as well. This group included Tori Muzanski, Aleeze Williams, McKinley Boyd, and Elena Frantzen.
Alma standout Chloe Gregory had a big day in the field events. She took first place in the high jump with a leap of 5-2. Humphrey was seventh (4-2). Gregory placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 29-8 ½.
She also took third (18.37) in the 100 intermediate hurdles. Faith Sartor was third in the discus (33-2).
Izabel Benson was seventh in the shot put, and Swarnes and Kious placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 200 meters.
In the boys' event, Owen McCoy, Ernesto Estrella, Ashton Millsap, and Caleb Liles placed second (4:08.88) in the 1,600 medley relay. Liles placed in two other relays as well.
Alma’s Liles, Moore, Calebl Liles, John Crump, and Ashton Millsap placed fourth (1:45.16) in the 800 relay. Moore, Liles, Ethan Her, and Sam Schlegel placed fifth in the 400 relay (48.98).
Schlegel was third (17-10 ½) in the long jump.
McCoy, Estrella, Logan Flanagan, and Trevor Simon were third (10:23.21) in the 3,200 relay. Estrella was third (59.4) in the open quarter.
Crump was fifth in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the high jump.
