SOFTBALL — Makinize Erwin had a career-high five hits, including a home run, during the Lady Airedales’ 12-7 win over Huntsville. Teammate Julia Nutt also homered for the Lady Airedales.
Alma’s MacKenzie Gwinn picked up the victory, the first of her career.
Erwin set the offensive tone as the team’s leadoff batter. In addition to her home run, she had three singles and a double and drove in two runs. Nutt had four RBIs.
Jocelyn Harless went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Jada Wallis drove in two runs with a pair of hits, and Jenna Williams had a pair of hits and an RBI.
