Lady Airedales still perfect

 

The Alma Lady Airedales ran their record to 3-0 with a 4-0 victory at Poteau. 

 

Presli Taylor put Alma ahead, 1-0, in the 13th minute. Teagan Thrasher’s goal right before half in the 36th minute made it 2-0. 

 

Senior Rachel James had nine saves and posted her second shutout of the young season. 

 

Olivia Reed’s free kick in the 62nd minute gave Alma a 3-0 lead, and Taylor helped ice it with a goal in the 88th minute. 

 

Poteau 2, Alma 0

 

BOYS - The Alma boys dropped a 2-0 decision to Poteau on Friday. 

 

The Pirates outshot the Airedales, 16-4. Alma had four shots on goal. 

 

Julian Davila had two saves in the first half. Eddie Tate added six saves in the final half. 

 

TRACK 

 

Alma’s Ryan Carter, Ayden Parker, Caleb Parker, and Jael Nunez placed second in the 1,600 relays Friday at Van Buren with a time of 3:51.05. 

 

Nunez was third (52.78) in the 400 meters. Standridge placed third in the 100 (11.74), 8th in the 200 (24.16), and

 

Keyshawn Rhodes, Standridge, Demetrius Parish, and Eli Pellam placed third in the 800 relays (1:37.40). 

 

Danny Ehrhardt, Braxton Kilgore, Nunez, and Dillon Flanagan were fourth (1:37.49) in the 800 relays. 

 

Ehrhardt, Flanagan, Kilgore, and Standridge were third (45.55) in the 400 relays. 

 

BASEBALL 

 

Fayetteville 5, Alma 0 

 

The Alma Airedales dropped a 5-0 decision to Fayetteville on Friday. 

 

Senior Noah Likens pitched well for the Airedales, allowing one earned run in 4 ⅓ innings of work. Likens didn’t allow a hit until one out in the fifth. He struck out two and walked two. 

 

Sophomore Camden Curd and freshman Easton Daily hit safely for the Airedales. 

 

Axl Spain worked a scoreless inning in relief. Alma pitchers allowed just two earned runs over six innings while striking out four and walking four.
