Alma 8th grade boys rally 

 

Carson Curd’s corner 3-pointer with 34.8 left gave Alma a thrilling 34-33 come-from-behind win against Siloam Springs in eighth-grade boys basketball action on Monday.

 

The Airedales, 7-0 in the conference, led 26-15 with 2:33 to play in the third quarter before the Panthers took the lead thanks to an 18-6 scoring run. 

 

Curd finished with a team-high 15 points for the Airedales. 

 

Luke Stogsdill had six points and nine rebounds, and Cade Moore added six points and seven boards. Sammy Moore finished with four points and two steals. Hudson Loughridge, who was plagued throughout with foul trouble, finished with three points. 

 

Alma, which had beaten the Panthers, 55-35, last month, was just 14-of-38 from the field. However, the Airedales shot a blistering 56 percent from behind the 3-point line (5-for-9). Curd was 4-of-6 from deep. 

 

Alma junior boys fall

 

The Alma Airedales’ junior high boys basketball team suffered a 34-33 loss to Siloam Springs on Monday. 

 

Easton Daily led the Airedales with 12 points. Jeremiah Schlegel finished with eight points. 

 

Kade Fagan and Sam Schlegel finished with six and five points, respectively, and Owen McCoy added two points. 

 

Alma will host Farmington on Thursday. 

 

Alma junior girls win, 44-25

 

Faith Sartor, Anna Swarnes, and Olivia Hughes combined for 32 points to pace Alma’s junior high girls basketball team to a 44-25 win over Siloam Springs at Crabtree Gym. 

 

Sartor led the way with 14 points. Emberly Kimes added seven points, and Izabel Benson and McKinzy Berna scored three and two points, respectively. 

 

Alma 8th grade girls fall in OT

 

The Lady Airedales’ eighth-grade girls basketball team suffered a 47-44 overtime loss to Farmington. 

 

Kaitlyn Middleton led Alma with 13 points. Jaeda Cahoon and Matilyn Dunn added nine and eight points, respectively. 

 

Alma’s Ruthy Dunaway and Lauren Settles had seven and six points, respectively. Izabelle Plourde had one point.

 

Alma 7th grade Green wins

 

Alma’s seventh grade ‘Green’ team thumped Siloam Springs, 39-7, on Monday at Crabtree Gym. 

 

Madie House and Mallory Taylor led the charge with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Jaeli Morris and Grayce Routt had seven and four, respectively. 

 

Haven Baxter and Ellyse Wright added two points apiece. 

 

Alma 7th Gold girls fall

 

Alma’s seventh grade ‘Gold’ team suffered a 21-12 loss to Siloam Springs on Monday.

 

Khloe Dunn and RaeLynn Avey led Alma with six and five points, respectively. Lauren Burdick added a free throw.
