Alma junior boys roll

 

Coach Eddie Corder’s Alma Airedales’ junior high boys team led wire-to-wire Thursday night against Harrison. Sam Schlegel made sure of it. 

 

Schlegel scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the first half as the Airedales coasted to a 44-33 victory. Schlegel also had five steals and six rebounds. 

 

Easton Daily and Jeremiah Schlegel had six points each, and Braden Kimes, who dropped a 3-pointer to stretch Alma’s lead to 10 (24-14) in the first half, finished with five assists. 

 

Kade Fagan had four points and took another defensive charge, his seventh in three games. Brayden Peppas had two assists.  

 

Alma travels to Siloam Springs on Monday. 

 

Alma 8th grade boys 

 

Cade Moore scored four late first-half points to help put the Airedales ahead, and Hudson Loughrige added to a monster 27-5 scoring blitz with nine third-quarter points as Alma completed the season sweep of Harrison with a 49-37 victory — Alma’s sixth straight conference victory without a loss. 

 

Alma led 47-25 with 4:54 left when coach Wyatt Nehus pulled his starters. Loughridge finished with 12 points and two rebounds. Moore had five points, six rebounds, and two blocks. 

 

Carson Curd, whose 3-pointer put Alma up for good (18-16) late in the second quarter, finished with 13 points, four rebounds, and six assists. 

 

Luke Stogsdill added eight points and six boards, and Lawson Adams and Boaz Benson finished with five and four points, respectively. Dylan Jackson added two points. Adams also pulled down six boards and was 2-of-3 from the floor. 

 

The Airedales travel to Siloam Springs on Monday. 

 

Alma junior girls win, 31-28

 

Good balance helped the Alma Airedales’ junior girls win for the 15th time in 16 games on Thursday. 

 

Faith Sartor had eight points and four other players scored four points or more during Alma’s 28-16 victory over the Harrison Lady Goblins. 

 

Izabel Benson had six for the winners. Breella Hughes, Olivia Hughes, and Emberly Kimes finished with four points apiece. 

 

Anna Swarnes finished with two points. 

 

Airedale 8th grade girls roll

 

Matilyn Dunn and Kaitlyn Middleton combined for 22 points to help lead Alma’s eighth-grade girls team to a 36-5 rout of Harrison. 

 

Dunn had a game-high 12 for the winners. 

 

Izabelle Plourde added seven points, and Ruthy Dunaway and Kasey Breyette had five and two points, respectively. 

 

The Lady Airedales host Siloam Springs on Monday. 

 

Alma 7th grade Green wins

 

Alma’s seventh grade ‘Green’ team rolled to a 51-24 victory over Harrison on Thursday. 

 

Carson Hamilton and Brody Johnson combined for 38 points for the winners, with Hamilton pouring a game-high 21 points. 

 

Brennen Gwinn added five points, and Jack Taylor, Eli Beller, Taylor Workman, Baron Daily, and Gabriel Hardin finished with two each.    

 

Alma 7th Gold girls fall

 

Alma’s seventh grade ‘Gold’ team suffered a 28-23 loss to Harrison on Thursday. 

 

Kadee Wise led Alma with 11 points. Juliet Hargis had six points, and Kloe Dunn and Faylyn Holt had three and two, respectively. RaeLynn Avey had one point. 

 

Alma 7th Green girls lose

 

Alma’s seventh-grade Green team lost to Harrison on Thursday, 28-24. 

 

Jaeli Morris led the Airedales with 14 points. Haven Baxter and Madie House had four each, and Chloe Kovalck had two points.
