Alma junior boys fall late, 43-40
The Alma ninth-grade boys suffered a tough 43-40 loss to Siloam Springs Thursday at Crabtree Gym.
Sam Schlegel led the Airedales (5-8, 0-3) with 22 points and four assists. The Airedales’ Braden Kimes hit a 3-pointer to pull Alma within 41-40 with 30 seconds left, but the Panthers hit two foul shots to ice the game.
The Airedales’ Easton Daily and Jeremiah Schlegel had nine and six points, respectively, for the Airedales.
Alma travels to Farmington Monday.
Alma junior girls now 13-0
The Alma junior girls don’t just keep winning, they keep winning close games.
Faith Sartor had 14 points to pace the unbeaten Lady Airedales to a 30-28 win over Siloam Springs Thursday.
The Lady Airedales, who host Farmington Monday, are 13-0 overall and 3-0 in league play.
Emberly Kimes and Olivia Hughes finished with six and five points, respectively, for the winners.
Izabel Benson and Anna Swarnes had two points each, and Breella Hughes finished with one point.
Airedale 8th graders throttle Panthers
Luke Stogsdill and Hudson Loughridge combined for 35 points to help power Alma to a 55-35 blowout of Siloam Springs in eighth-grade boys action.
Stogsdill set the tone early by scoring 13 of his game-high 20 points in the first half. Landon Taylor added six points, and Carson Curd had three points and five assists.
The Airedales hit six 3-pointers.
Cade Moore finished with five points, and Dylan Jackson, Brycen Lester, and Julian Spears had two points apiece.
Alma 8th grade girls fall
The Alma eighth-grade girls basketball team suffered a 35-19 loss to Siloam Springs Thursday.
Jaeda Cahoon finished with nine points for the Lady Airedales. Kaitlyn Middleton and Lauren Settles had four points each, and Alma’s Matilyn Dunn added two.
Alma 7th graders win, 36-29
Alma’s seventh-grade boys team defeated Siloam Springs, 36-29, Thursday.
Carson Hamilton led the charge with 24 points, including eight during the second quarter of the team’s victory. Brody Johnson and Brennen Gwinn had five points apiece, and Tanner Workman tossed in two.
