Alma junior boys defeat West 

 

Alma’s Sam Schlegel scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, and collected four steals Thursday to help power the Airedales’ junior high boys team to a 52-41 win over Bentonville West. 

 

Easton Daily and Jeremiah Schlegel combined for 24 points in the team’s victory as well, with Daily pouring in 14 points and Jeremiah Schlegel finishing with seven assists. 

 

The Airedales’ Braden Kimes added eight points. 

 

Coach Eddie Corder said Owen McCoy and Brayden Peppas had big minutes off the bench.

 

Alma junior girls win again

 

Faith Sartor had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and two blocks Thursday to help lead Alma’s unbeaten junior high girls team to a 34-17 rout of Bentonville West. 

 

Olivia Hughes and Emberly Kimes finished with eight and seven points, respectively. 

 

Also for Alma, Izabel Benson and Breella Hughes had four and two points, respectively. 

 

The Lady Airedales (10-0) open conference play Monday against Greenwood. 

 

Lady Airedale 8th graders win

 

Lauren Settle scored 11 points to help lead the Alma eighth-grade girls to a 27-22 win over Northridge Thursday. 

 

Matilyn Dunn finished with seven points and had a key 3-pointer in the fourth quarter of the team’s victory. 

 

Jaeda Cahoon had four points, and Izabella Plourde and Kaitlyn Middleton scored two apiece. Ruthy Dunaway finished with one point. 

 

Airedale 8th grade boys fall, 31-26

 

Alma’s eighth-grade boys team finished strong Thursday but wasn’t able to overcome an 11-point deficit against Northridge. 

 

Alma shot just 9-for-29 from the field and made 6-of-13 free throws during the team’s 31-26 loss. 

 

Carson Curd had nine points, and Luke Stogsdill and Sammy Moore finished with five and three points, respectively. Boaz Benson and Lawson Adams had three, and Drake Ciampoli added two points.
