The Alma junior high volleyball team suffered a pair of losses to Harrison and Siloam Springs this week. 

 

Thursday, the Lady Airedales dropped a 14-25, 25-12, 15-9 decision to Harrison. Maggie Brogan led Alma with six kills, seven digs, one block, and an assist. Emberly Kimes had three kills for the Lady Airedales. Chloe Gregory added four kills, an assist, a block, and three digs. 

 

McKinzy Berna had an outstanding serve rating of 2.40. She had one ace, one assist, and two dogs. Matilyn Dunn had 10 assists, eight digs, and three aces. 

 

Also for Alma, Breella Hughes had two aces, four digs, and a kill. Annabelle Davis finished with five digs, three assists, and one ace. 

 

Anna Swarnes added three digs, one assist, one kill, and one ace. Kyran Kious had one kill and one dig. 

 

Earlier in the week, Alma dropped a two-set decision (25-23, 25-18) to Siloam Springs. Brogan led the charge with six kills, two digs, one ace, and one block Hughes finished with four kills, four aces, and four digs. 

 

Dunn finished with a team-high nine assists and eight digs for the lady Airedales. Berna and Davis had six digs apiece, respectively. 

 

Swarnes had three kills and three digs, and Kimes finished with four digs, one kill, and one assist. Gregory had two kills, one block, one assist, and one dig. 

 

Brooklyn Qualls and Kylee Wallis finished with three digs and one dig, respectively. 

 

Harrison 27, Alma 14 

 

The Airedales and Goblins went into halftime tied at 14 before Harrison pulled ahead in the second half Thursday in Junior High football action. 

 

Logan English accounted for both of Alma’s touchdowns. He caught two passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. He also added a 1-yard TD run. 

 

Sam Schlegel led the Airedales with 123 yards rushing. He was 3-for-7 in the air for 44 yards and a touchdown. 

 

Tim Plourde and Dallas Stallings led the Airedales with seven tackles apiece. Trenton Kilgore had six tackles, and Schlegel and Brayden Peppas combined for nine tackles. 

 

Schlegel also recorded a quarterback sack. 

 

Harrison 18, Alma 0 

 

Alma’s eighth-grade football team suffered an 18-0 loss to Harrison. 

 

Chase Parker was 4-for-9 for 52 yards for the Airedales. Izaac Plourde had 37 yards rushing on five carries. He also added five tackles. 

 

Boaz Benson led Alma with seven tackles, including a sack. Andrew Bush had four tackles, and Colton and Tristan Nutt finished with three stops apiece. 

 

Harrison 20, Alma 8 

 

The Alma seventh graders dropped a 20-8 decision to Harrison Thursday. Barron Daily ran for 61 yards and scored the Airedales’ touchdown. He also caught a pass for 34 yards. 

 

Dallas Perkins added 25 yards rushing and 44 yards receiving. Quarterback Tucker Workman passed for 76 yards on 8-of-11. Brody Baldwin was 3-for-5 for 28 yards. 

 

Brennan Gwinn led Alma with six tackles. Blake Blackburn had five tackles, and Quinton Broadway had four tackles and two receptions for three yards.
