Alma split a pair of junior high matches with Greenwood and Van Buren this week.
The Lady Airedales defeated Van Buren, 25-22, 25-18, behind the play of Matilyn Dunn, who had 16 assists, three digs, two kills, and an ace. Dunn had 11 assists and seven digs in the team’s 25-15, 25-21 loss to Greenwood.
Maggie Brogan finished with seven kills and three aces and two digs against Van Buren. Brogan also had four kills and two digs against Greenwood.
Emberly Kimes added five kills, five digs, and an ace against the Lady Pointers.
Annabelle Davis had three digs and an ace against Van Buren, and 13 digs, two aces, and an assist against Greenwood. Steady Breella Hughes finished with three kills, two blocks, two digs, and an ace against the Lady Pointers.
McKinzy Berna had three kills, three aces, and six digs in the team’s loss to Greenwood. She had three digs and an ace in the win over the Pointers. Chloe Gregory had two kills, a block and a dig in the team’s matches with Van Buren and Greenwood.
Also for Alma, Anna Swarnes had 12 digs, three kills, and an ace and a block against Greenwood. She added six digs and a kill and an ace in the win over Van Buren. Teammates Brooklyn Qualls had two aces against Van Bure and Izabel Benson added a kill in the team’s match with Greenwood.
Football
The Alma junior high football team defeated Pea Ridge on Thursday, 16-12.
Sam Schlegel had 52 yards and accounted for both touchdowns. He also added two PAT runs.
Logan English led the Airedales with 86 yards on 15 carries.
Tim Plourde and Cooper Dunaway led the defensive charge with four tackles apiece. English finished with three stops and a quarterback sack.
Brayden Peppas added an interception.
