Alma’s tennis teams split with Greenbrier Tuesday. 

 

Logan Evans, the team’s No. 1 singles player, earned an 8-5 victory. Jeremiah Schlegel dropped an 8-4 decision. 

 

Jackson McMurray and Caden Farris won their doubles match, 8-2. Josh Smith and Colby Kimmons earned an 8-3 victory

 

Alma’s No. 1 girls singles player, Marti Lineberry, earned an 8-1 victory. No. 2 player Sydnee Jordan lost her match, 8-3. 

 

In girls' doubles, Kenadie Farris and Kensington Wadkins dropped an 8-4 decision. Piper Powell and Alexis Stowe also dropped their doubles match, 8-6.

 

Alma will host Russellville Tuesday. 

 

Lady Airedales drop match

 

The Alma Lady Airedales dropped a 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 13-25, 25-16) decision to Gravette Tuesday at Charles B. Dyer Arena. 

 

Alma led 10-1 and 21-14 in the opener before Gravette (5-0) rallied to win 25-23. The Lady Airedales led in all four matches, including a 9-7 advantage in the fourth game before the Lady Lions seized control with a 9-4 burst. 

 

Rachel James led Alma (3-3-1) with 11 kills and 14 assists. Jenna Williams had 10 kills, and Samantha Crook and Zoe Thrift finished with seven and six kills, respectively. 

 

Julia Nutt added 14 assists.
